2005: A Leadership Conference to Implement Change in Federal Legislation, Rules, and Regulations to Address the Needs of Adult Learners for Access to Federal Financial Aid.
It is the intention of this group to accomplish the following outcomes:
- Create a strong and enduring voice with policy makers to gain adoption of a set of policies that enable full access to federal financial aid and learning opportunities for adult students- especially those who choose to learn at a distance.
- Create a list of required changes to current statute, rules, and regulations (Title IV, Pell Grants, etc.) that will enhance federal financial aid to adult learners and permit them to receive full benefits from federal tax incentive programs.
- Develop a work plan for the continuation of our efforts to develop a campaign focusing policy makers' attention upon the emerging national crisis in higher education and the economy.
